Stressful situations, whether expected or not, may throw us off centre. I was easily rattled in the past but can now respond to people and events with much more ease.
Now, when feeling confronted, I am more easily able to ground myself and stay calm. I rarely experience performance anxiety anymore and can remain relaxed.
By learning “horse stance”, I literally and figuratively have created a stronger base for myself with strengthened legs and better balance to stand more confidently on my own two feet.
In January 2020, I created a little video series for my tài jí students to work on at home. This is good preparation if you're thinking about learning tài jí, for people who already practice tài jí or for anyone simply seeking physical and personal strength. This standing meditation improves focus, alignment and self-awareness.
These videos have been curated into this online course that is now available for you! Join me in learning this effective practice. Click the link below for to sign up for Ground and Self-Connect. You are encouraged to watch one lesson a week for the next six weeks. You can set up your own practice time and I’m here to answer any questions you might have along the way.
Testimonials
Posture, posture, posture. I believe that in everything we do, posture is the building block to prevent fatigue and unnecessary wear and tear on our bodies. Ground & Self Connect reinforced and pointed out my incorrect stance, for Tài jí and all moments of standing and sitting. With the daily practice, I now feel an awareness of my posture. I improved my quad strength which helped. I feel sturdier, more centred physically and mentally, and the course gave me a newfound positivity to aging gracefully. I can't thank you enough.
I was surprised about how many little things I learned that made a big difference, not just to doing this type of standing meditation but to how I feel stronger throughout the day. Thanks Wendy for keeping us going when we couldn't come to class.
I felt "right at home" watching you doing this in your home setting and even outside in the snow. I like how you practice along with us and explain what you're doing and the added touch of seeing Frank the cat in all your videos made my day.
